What would cause a distinct body odor that smells like gasoline, or chemicals or some sort?
I have a friend with the strangest body odor. When I first met her I thought she had a gas leak in her house, but now I realize it is actually *her* – it does not smell exactly like gas, but very chemical-y. She is not the drug using type, she does take an antidepressant, anything it could be?
I don’t want to give too many personal details, but let’s just say she’s definitely not. Too old, too high performing, drug tested at work, etc.

How do you know she’s not the drug using type? People who abuse inhalants (gasoline, paint, other fumes), often take on the odor of the inhalant.

maybe she sniffs gasoline, or she sniffs spray paint? that could be why she smells like that

What kind of work does she do? It has to be related to something she is coming in contact with either by mouth, hands, nose, etc. Something is in her bloodstream causing this smell or it is on her clothing. Either way it HAS to be something like that. There HAS to be an answer to why she smells that way all the time. I know…why not ask her about it? Maybe she isn’t aware of it herself. Good luck!
