I have this tendency to bite my nails and then shove the nail into my gums until it hurts. Is this normal?

I just hope I’m not crazy even though I’ve been told that it is highly plausible that I am in fact insane.
I bite my nails and a piece of nail is stuck in my gums. I will see a dentist but how can i remove it myself? February 7th, 2010

They said to get braces i’d have to have teeth pulled first, to make room so the rest can be straight. I grind my teeth and have gum recession. Will getting them straight stop my teeth grinding? And help prevent further gum recession?
